Can lottery players remain anonymous in Texas?
Media Relations Division Director of the Texas Lottery Commission Steve Helm told USA TODAY that lottery players can chose to remain anonymous when claiming their lottery prizes. However, there is a certain criteria the prize must meet before the winner can be anonymous.
"Players that purchase a lottery ticket from a licensed Texas Lottery retailer and win a prize of $1 million or more may elect to remain anonymous at the time of claiming the prize from the Texas Lottery Commission," Helm said. "This election prohibits all personally identifiable information of the winner from being released to the public."
When did claiming anonymity become a part of the Texas lottery?
The Anonymity Bill, House Bill 59, became law in Texas on September 1, 2017, Helm told USA TODAY.
What are the odds of winning Luxe?
The overall odds of winning Luxe scratch-off are 1 in 3.48, the Texas lottery states.
The odds of winning the top prize of $5 million are based on the End of Production Prize Structure, according to the lottery.
